Have you decided that the time has come to take the plunge to invest in a website but are unsure about how to go about the building and promoting of the site?

A favourite of mine is google adwords, this is where you pay a fee to appear on their sponsored websites section which appears on the right hand side of the search results. This enables you to obtain a first page entry on the search engine for a particular phrase or keyword.

Another idea is to write articles like the one you are reading. Webmasters are free to use this content that you have produced on their website or blog and when they do it enables you to gain that all important one-way backward link. The number of backward links a website has will affect its page rank, the higher the number of backward links, the higher the page rank. Generally the higher the page rank, the more visitors your website is likely to get.

I have had over a thousand articles published on one of the main article directories which is called ezinearticles and I have to say that I am more than impressed with the results; I am sure you will be too.
