Getting Rid Of Spam Email

Many individuals receive spam emails without thinking too much about them.But by working otgether we can reduce spam and make things safer for everyone.This article is about how to reduce spam by reporting spammers or outwitting them.

Receiving junk emails which are either silly, or making some fantastic claims about products may not seem like a big deal.  After all, aren’t there more worthy causes to get uptight about, rather than receiving the odd junk mail?This is true in a way, but you need to understand some facts about spam before you can appreciate the spam email problems.

Everyone pays for spam emails, for a start. People who receive spam email in their  new email account at work lose time due to dealing with rubbish emails.This wil only cost the business they work for money.

Plus some will find spam distressing.Many have lost money to a spammer pretending to be their bank or building society.  Some people have even fallen prey to spammers who pretend to be sick, or who have been left money and need a UK bank account to be able to transfer funds etc.We can all think those people were stupid, but at the time these scams were far less known, so people were less cautious.

So spam is not just an inconvenience at all.It needs to be stopped as it upsets some and overwhelms others.There’s a lot of software to cope with filtering out spam, but it’s hard to stop the spammers from getting your email in the first place.

One thing you can do to stop spam by yourself, is to use a another  email account when you are on a social networking site, such as Facebook.  Instead of using the @ symbol before your service provider, use at or better still AT, so you would be jane.smithAT (your service provider), not jane.smith@ then your service provide.

Since some email addresses are targeted by guesswork, you can reduce the chances of being found by using an underscore or a number.So the software is less likely to guess jane_smith79_2@ service provider correctly.

Spam can be reported to Information Commissioner’s Office, google or yahoo - they work hard to reduce internet spam but it’s a difficult challenge.
